By introducing the new Electronic Fail-Safe® (EFS) rotary standard actuators NENUTEC Switzerland opens up new possibilities in the field of HVAC –system protection. The Electronic Fail-Safe® (EFS) management for standard damper and valve actuators provides a reliably controlled powersupply with selected capacitors engineered, designed and assembled by NENUTEC Switzerland to ensure utmost quality.
This new generation of actuators is operating in the same way as all standard NENUTEC actuators - with an additional extended emergency function. The innovative type of capacitors is ensuring sufficient power for the actuator during emergency situations to bridge short supply interruptions up to 4 seconds and to move the damper or valve into a pre-defined emergency position. (EPS)
In standby or holdover mode the power consumption is also significantly reduced.

The Electronic Fail-Safe® (EFS) rotary standard actuators have been long time tested under roughest ambient conditions for years.
The different running times and emergency control positions, highest accuracy, short capacitor charging time and an extremely powerful hold positioning torque guarantees maximum safety of operation to further improved unit protection.

In applications where spring return actuators have been used so far now time has come for the new Electronic Fail-Safe® (EFS) generation: a high-end and utmost reliable result of today’s knowhow, needs and 35 years of actuator experience.

Nenutec’s latest Electronic Fail-Safe (EFS®) actuator technology contains a power fail management.

These Electronic Fail-Safe (EFS®) actuators are working with the intelligence of a microcontroller and the power of the reliable and maintenance free capacitors and provide a solution for several applications in HVAC sys- tems buildings, hospitals, pharmaceuti- cal facilities, tunnels, greenhouses, finish paint industry. Rotary damper actuators with electronic fail-safe® (EFS) function are designed and produced for extended functionalities in HVAC systems, fan coil and laboratory applications.

Electronic fail-safe® (EFS) is able to manage short voltage interruptions for max. 4 seconds. In case of longer voltage interruption they will move the dampers or valves if necessary to a pre-defined emergency position (EPS).

FSAA

Mode of operation
The FSAA actuator moves the air damper or valve into a fully open or to the desired operating position at the same time as integrated capacitors are loaded. Interruption of power supply causes the damper or valve to be rotated back to a predefined emergency position (EPS).

Delivery conditions of FSAA actuators
Actuator is delivered completely discharged, which is why the actuator requires approx. 15...30 sec pre-charging time before initial commissioning. High functional reliability FS…actuators are overload protected and do not require any limit switches. The actuators stop automatically at the and position.

FSAM

Mode of operation
The FSAM... actuator moves the air damper or valve controlled with a standard modulating signal Y 0(2)...10 VDC to the desired operating position at the same time as integrated capacitors are loaded. The feedback voltage signal μ 0...10 VDC service the damper or valve position. Interruption of power supplies causes the damper or valve to be rotated back to a pre defined emergency position (EFS).

Delivery conditions of FSAM actuators
Actuator is delivered completely discharged, which is why the actuator requires approx. 15...30 sec pre-charging time before initial commis- sioning. High functional reliability FS... actuators where overload proof requires no limit switches and automatically stops at the end position.

Rotary valve actuators with electronic fail-safe® (EFS) function are designed and produced for extended functionalities in HVAC systems fan coil and laboratory applications.

The FSBA actuator moves the valve into a fully open or to the desired operating position at the same time as integrated capacitors are loaded. Interruption of power supply causes the valve to be rotated back to a predefined emergency position (EPS).

Actuator is delivered completely discharged, which is why the actuator requires approx. 30...40 sec pre-charging time before initial commissioning. High functional reliability FS…actuators are overload protected and do not require any limit switches. The actuators stop automatically at the and position.
